We visited the Mémorial de Caen, a museum and war memorial commemorating World War II. There were crowds of students, notebooks in hand, who were carefully perusing the exhibits to find answers to their homework assignments. Our self-guided audio tour started at 1918 and continued through Pearl Harbor, D-Day and the liberation of Paris.

On the way to Bayeux, we passed the General Eisenhower Memorial Status.
